Medical School MD + DO Mastery

A 4-year, board-aligned study system for medical school and licensing exams.

Walk the full Year 1–4 curriculum — foundational sciences, organ-system blocks, clinical clerkships and advanced practice — each with mastery checklists and linked learning resources, plus a dedicated review system for school exams, Shelf/COMAT, USMLE Step 1–3 and COMLEX-USA Levels 1–3.

LEVEL 2-CE - STEP 2 OVERLAP + OSTEOPATHIC DISTINCTIVES

YEAR 3 | PAGE 68C - SHARED CLINICAL CORE -> OPP / OMM -> PROFESSIONALISM / COMMUNICATION -> SYSTEMS / PBLI

TRANSFER RULE: STEP 2 CK PREPARATION CAN SUPPLY A LARGE CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS / MANAGEMENT CORE, BUT LEVEL 2-CE READINESS REQUIRES ADDITIONAL COMLEX-SPECIFIC TRANSFER. KEEP OPP/OMM, OSTEOPATHIC PATIENT-CARE FRAMING AND THE NON-KNOWLEDGE COMPETENCIES ACTIVE THROUGHOUT CLERKSHIPS AND DEDICATED. E. SHARED CORE VS DISTINCTIVE TRANSFER

LayerWhat transfersWhat must remain explicitly Level 2-CE trained
Clinical diagnosis + managementCommon medicine, surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, psychiatry, emergency and family-medicine reasoning.Practice the same presentations in COMLEX-style questions so the task framing, osteopathic integration and competency mix are familiar.
OPP / OMMMSK anatomy, neurophysiology, pain and functional reasoning support both exams.Structural diagnosis, viscerosomatic/autonomic concepts, OMT selection, contraindications/safety and osteopathic integration must stay longitudinal.
Communication + professionalismMany general ethical/communication principles overlap.Train consent, confidentiality, boundaries, capacity, error disclosure, team communication and osteopathic professional responsibilities as decision sequences.
Systems + PBLIQuality, safety, evidence, population health and care transitions are broadly useful.Recognize when the item is testing system navigation or improvement rather than asking for another biomedical fact.
Assessment calibrationClerkship exams, Qbanks and NBME-style tools can reveal clinical weaknesses.Use COMLEX-style mixed questions and school/NBOME-aligned readiness tools; do not assume an NBME score alone answers Level 2-CE readiness.

F. NON-KNOWLEDGE COMPETENCY DECISION STRUCTURES

CompetencyFast decision structure
Communication ProfessionalismWho needs information -> what must be communicated -> what barriers/preferences exist -> confirm understanding / shared plan. Identify duty/conflict -> protect patient rights/safety -> respect confidentiality/consent/boundaries -> escalate appropriately.
Systems-Based Practice PBLIIdentify system constraint -> choose safest available resource/team/transition -> close the loop and prevent loss to follow-up. Identify performance/evidence gap -> measure/interpret -> intervene -> reassess outcome; distinguish individual error from system process.
OPP/OMM safetyExclude instability/red flags -> localize dysfunction -> decide whether OMT is appropriate -> choose technique class -> contraindications -> reassess.

F. NON-KNOWLEDGE COMPETENCY DECISION STRUCTURES — 7. A strong Step 2 clinical core is useful, but it is not a complete Level 2-CE preparation strategy DEEP EXPLANATION Shared diagnosis and management reasoning creates efficiency. Level 2-CE adds explicit osteopathic competencies and can test the same clinical presentation through OPP,

communication, professionalism, PBLI or systems-based practice. The efficient plan preserves one clinical core while layering COMLEX-specific transfer.

F. NON-KNOWLEDGE COMPETENCY DECISION STRUCTURES — WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Students preparing for both exams may either duplicate two complete curricula or assume one exam's question style fully substitutes for the other. EASIEST CLUE Use one clinical core + a persistent COMLEX transfer layer. 8. Communication, professionalism, systems and PBLI are testable decision frameworks - not "soft" leftovers DEEP EXPLANATION These domains have explicit blueprint minimums. They often reward sequencing: identify the duty or system problem, protect safety/rights, communicate with the correct person, use

appropriate resources, document/escalate and close the loop.

WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Learners may read these questions by intuition and spend review time only on biomedical misses, so recurring non-knowledge errors never receive a repair framework. EASIEST CLUE When every biomedical option seems plausible, ask whether the stem is actually testing who communicates, what duty applies, or how the system should respond. 9. Format familiarity is part of readiness because Level 2-CE uses eight 40-question sections and may include audiovisual exhibits DEEP EXPLANATION The current examination has 320 questions in two timed four-hour sessions. Performance therefore depends on section pacing, repeated resets, efficient exhibit use and full-day

attention in addition to content knowledge.

WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Learners may train only short custom sets or on a familiar commercial interface and leave section rhythm, review-screen behavior and audiovisual items for test day. EASIEST CLUE Rehearse 40-question sections + official practice features + full-day recovery behavior.

2026/27 Level 2-CE blueprint expanded edition - verify current NBOME and school guidance before testing
