J. OB/GYN QUESTION-REVIEW ALGORITHM

  • 1. Pregnancy status + gestational age: establish the context before interpreting bleeding, pain, hypertension, medications, imaging or fetal questions.
  • 2. Stability: does hemorrhage, severe hypertension/eclampsia, sepsis, fetal compromise, torsion or rupture change the sequence?
  • 3. Maternal + fetal priorities: in obstetrics, ask what is safest for both - while remembering maternal stabilization takes precedence.
  • 4. Syndrome + discriminator: painful vs painless bleeding, uterine tone, fetal tracing, cervical change, discharge, mass characteristics, age/risk and timing are often the decisive clues.
  • 5. Next step now: observation, lab/ultrasound/monitoring, medication, induction/delivery, operative management, screening/prevention or follow-up - not the ultimate step several moves later.

7-6Map misses into prenatal/fetal assessment, labor/emergencies, pregnancy bleeding/HTN, gynecology/pelvic pain/AUB, contraception/prevention/oncology. Repair the two largest gaps.
5-4Timed OB/GYN shelf/Step 2 blocks. Review every incorrect, guessed and low-confidence correct; write one management-sequence rule per miss.
3Take NBME OB/GYN CSMS or COMAT-SE if scheduled/available; use content patterns to redirect the last 48 hours.
2Mixed fetal monitoring + labor + preeclampsia/bleeding + ectopic/pelvic pain + AUB/contraception + oncology/prevention. Practice "next step now" decisions.
1Light retrieval and error sheet only. Rehearse pregnancy-status/gestational-age/stability checks, contraindications and emergency triggers; protect sleep.

K. 7-DAY OB/GYN EXAM FINISH — L. CLERKSHIP MASTERY GATE

  • Can frame an obstetric case by pregnancy status, gestational age, maternal stability and fetal status before choosing a test or treatment.
  • Can recognize time-critical obstetric emergencies and identify the first safe supervised step before definitive management.
  • Can approach pelvic pain, bleeding, contraception, preventive care and gynecologic malignancy as structured decision pathways rather than isolated facts.
  • Can complete timed mixed OB/GYN questions with stable accuracy and fewer repeated management-sequencing errors.

K. 7-DAY OB/GYN EXAM FINISH — CLINICAL BOUNDARY

This Academy supports medical education and supervised clerkship performance. Pregnancy emergencies, fetal surveillance, medication selection, procedures, delivery decisions and reproductive-health counseling must follow supervising clinicians, institutional pathways and current specialty guidance.
