Medical School MD + DO Mastery

A 4-year, board-aligned study system for medical school and licensing exams.

Walk the full Year 1–4 curriculum — foundational sciences, organ-system blocks, clinical clerkships and advanced practice — each with mastery checklists and linked learning resources, plus a dedicated review system for school exams, Shelf/COMAT, USMLE Step 1–3 and COMLEX-USA Levels 1–3.

LEVEL 2-CE - DIMENSION 2 CLINICAL PRESENTATIONS

YEAR 3 | PAGE 68B - WELLNESS / SYSTEM PRESENTATIONS -> OSTEOPATHIC INTEGRATION -> COVERAGE PROTECTION

PRESENTATION RULE: DIMENSION 2 ORGANIZES THE EXAM AROUND HOW PATIENTS PRESENT FOR CARE, NOT A TRADITIONAL DEPARTMENTAL SYLLABUS. BUILD ILLNESS SCRIPTS AND MANAGEMENT SEQUENCES THAT CAN CARRY MULTIPLE COMPETENCIES INSIDE THE SAME PRESENTATION. C. DIMENSION 2 - CURRENT LEVEL 2-CE MINIMUMS

Clinical presentationMinimumHigh-yield integration lens
Community Health + Wellness Human Development, Reproduction + Sexuality12% 5%Screening, prevention, counseling, population health, risk reduction, quality/safety, longitudinal care. Pregnancy/reproductive health, development, sexuality, age-specific care and counseling.
Endocrine System + Metabolism Nervous System + Mental Health5% 10%Diabetes/endocrine emergencies, chronic management, metabolism and treatment adverse effects. Neurologic localization, psychiatric syndromes, safety, capacity, medication effects and communication.
Musculoskeletal System Genitourinary/Renal System + Breasts13% 5%MSK diagnosis, somatic dysfunction, OPP/OMM, pain, function, trauma and red-flag discrimination. Renal/GU evaluation, fluids/electrolytes, reproductive/breast presentations and urgent pathways.

D. CROSS-MAP THE PRESENTATION TO THE COMPETENCY

Example presentationPossible Level 2-CE competency pivots
Low back pain Diabetes follow-upRed flags + diagnosis (knowledge/patient care); somatic dysfunction/OMT (OPP); shared decision-making (communication); work/function/resource planning (systems). Medication selection/monitoring (patient care); prevention (wellness); evidence/quality targets (PBLI); access/adherence barriers (systems); counseling (communication).
Chest pain Depression with suicidalityStability + diagnostic sequence (patient care); mechanism/differential (knowledge); transfer/escalation (systems); consent/risk discussion (communication/professionalism). Risk assessment and disposition (patient care); capacity/confidentiality/duty (professionalism); family/team communication; safe handoff and resource access (systems).

D. CROSS-MAP THE PRESENTATION TO THE COMPETENCY — 4. Dimension 2 is presentation-based, so study from the patient problem outward DEEP EXPLANATION The same disease may appear through wellness, dyspnea, pain, abnormal labs, pregnancy, mental-health symptoms or a system-specific complaint. Preparation is stronger when the

learner builds a presentation algorithm: stability -> differential -> diagnostic threshold -> treatment -> reassessment/disposition.

D. CROSS-MAP THE PRESENTATION TO THE COMPETENCY — WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Departmental notes encourage disease-by-disease memorization and can hide the fact that the exam starts with a patient presentation and a decision. EASIEST CLUE Name the chief presentation and next decision before naming the chapter. 5. OPP/OMM should not be siloed inside the 13% musculoskeletal category DEEP EXPLANATION Musculoskeletal is the largest individual clinical-presentation minimum, but osteopathic principles may be integrated into respiratory, GI, pregnancy, headache, wellness and other

presentations. OPP is a Dimension 1 competency that can cross Dimension 2 categories.

WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Learners often equate OMM with "the MSK block" and stop retrieving osteopathic reasoning once the chief complaint belongs to another organ system. EASIEST CLUE If a presentation has a plausible structural/autonomic/functional osteopathic layer, ask whether OPP changes diagnosis, treatment or safety. 6. The 5% presentation domains are protected minimums, not permission to ignore them DEEP EXPLANATION Human development/reproduction, endocrine, GU/renal/breast and integumentary presentations each retain explicit representation. Neglecting several smaller domains creates broad

coverage holes that may also affect patient-care, communication and professionalism tasks.

WHY STUDENTS MISS IT Students protect the 10-13% categories and then let smaller domains decay because each looks individually minor. EASIEST CLUE Protect a minimum viable retrieval set for every 5% domain, then deepen according to personal errors.
