Medical School MD + DO Mastery

A 4-year, board-aligned study system for medical school and licensing exams.

Walk the full Year 1–4 curriculum — foundational sciences, organ-system blocks, clinical clerkships and advanced practice — each with mastery checklists and linked learning resources, plus a dedicated review system for school exams, Shelf/COMAT, USMLE Step 1–3 and COMLEX-USA Levels 1–3.

RESOURCE GOVERNANCE + SOURCE HIERARCHY

ALL YEARS | PAGE 39A - OFFICIAL TRUTH, TEACHING VALUE + TOP 10 CONCEPTS 1 TO 5

The original Page 39 identified the Academy's benchmark schools, official exam bodies and curated learning resources. This expansion adds a governance layer so every curriculum claim, video and assessment link has a defined role, a freshness rule and a replacement standard.

THE CENTRAL RULE Use the most authoritative source for the claim and the best instructional source for learning it. Those are often different resources. An

exam blueprint can define scope without being the best teacher; a brilliant teaching video can explain physiology without defining the current licensing-exam format.

A. SOURCE HIERARCHY - WHAT EACH LAYER IS ALLOWED TO DECIDE

LayerPrimary roleExamples / governance rule
0. Local school requirementsDefines what this learner must do now: course objectives, assessment rules, clinical supervision, promotion/graduation requirements.School syllabus, clerkship handbook, faculty guidance. Local requirements override a generic Academy sequence when they conflict.
1. Official national sourcesDefines current exam format, blueprint, competency framework and official assessment behavior.USMLE, NBOME, NBME, AAMC. Use for claims that can change by testing cycle or national framework.
2. Primary standards / guidelinesDefines time-sensitive clinical recommendations and safety standards.CDC, USPSTF, specialty societies, AHRQ and other authoritative standards. Version/date must be visible when the recommendation changes.
3. Benchmark medical schoolsShows credible curriculum architecture, sequencing, integration and longitudinal competencies.UW, Stanford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, PNWU-COM. Borrow patterns; do not copy one school wholesale.
4. Core teaching resourcesExplains mechanisms, clinical reasoning and bedside skills with strong pedagogy.Pathoma, OnlineMedEd, Stanford Medicine 25, Ninja Nerd, Osmosis, Dirty Medicine, Armando, Geeky Medics, MedCram, JJ Medicine, etc.
5. Practice + calibrationConverts knowledge into performance and identifies repair targets.UWorld, AMBOSS, TrueLearn; then official NBME/NBOME readiness tools where appropriate.

B. TOP 10 MOST-MISSED RESOURCE-GOVERNANCE CONCEPTS - 1 TO 5

ConceptWhat it really meansWhy students miss itEasiest clue
1. Official != instructionalAn official blueprint/specification tells you what is tested or required; it usually does not teach the topic deeply.Authority feels synonymous with teaching quality.Official sets scope; teacher builds understanding.
2. Benchmark != copyMultiple strong schools reveal recurring design principles, but their calendars, missions and local constraints differ.A famous curriculum looks like a ready-made template.Borrow patterns, not page order.
3. Popular != fitA highly viewed resource can still be too shallow, too long, misaligned, outdated or wrong for the current learning objective.Social proof is easier to judge than instructional fit.Name the gap before choosing the resource.
4. Long != rigorousDuration is only a proxy. A 45-minute video can ramble; a 12-minute expert video can be dense and exact. Core resources should be substantive, but length never substitutes for content audit.Learners use minutes as a shortcut for quality.Judge concept coverage + reasoning depth first.
5. Freshness is selectiveExam formats, guidelines and curriculum structures require current verification. Stable anatomy or core physiology may not need a 2026 source if the teaching remains accurate.Students either chase novelty everywhere or ignore time-sensitive updates.Ask: can this claim change this year?
