Bootcamp Mastery Certificate B24

Primary spine: official dotnet C# foundations plus freeCodeCamp ASP.NET Core/EF Core application builds, upgraded with current .NET 10 and .NET Aspire production bridges. Build secure APIs and web services with relational data, OpenAPI, modern authentication, telemetry, service discovery and cloud-native operations.

Benchmark: Microsoft publishes the dotnet C#/.NET 10/Aspire videos publicly, and freeCodeCamp publishes the referenced ASP.NET Core courses publicly. Zuyini combines those learning resources into an independent project-and-proof credential; it does not represent a Microsoft or freeCodeCamp certification or endorsement.

Core Video Sequence

01 — C# language + OOP foundations

02 — Build REST APIs with ASP.NET Core

03 — ASP.NET Core MVC + EF Core

04 — Relational modeling + CRUD with EF Core

05 — Current API platform: .NET 10

06 — OpenAPI + minimal API validation

07 — Modern authentication with passkeys

08 — Cloud-native orchestration + service discovery

09 — Telemetry + distributed app operations

10 — Current bridge: secure cloud-native .NET 10

Build-Along Checkpoints

  • Checkpoint 1: Build a typed ASP.NET Core API with dependency injection, validation, consistent error contracts, OpenAPI and clean domain/service/data boundaries.
  • Checkpoint 2: Persist a relational domain with EF Core and SQL Server or PostgreSQL; add migrations, constraints, relationships, transactions and realistic query paths.
  • Checkpoint 3: Implement authentication and authorization using modern ASP.NET Core Identity patterns; add at least one passkey or phishing-resistant design analysis.
  • Checkpoint 4: Create unit and integration tests for domain logic, persistence and HTTP contracts; run automated tests and produce repeatable local environment setup.
  • Checkpoint 5: Compose the API with at least one dependent service through .NET Aspire; demonstrate service discovery, configuration, health checks and distributed telemetry.
  • Checkpoint 6: Load-test a critical endpoint, inspect traces/metrics/logs, inject a database or dependency failure, recover safely and document latency/reliability tradeoffs.

7-Day Independent Capstone

  • Day 1: Define a production-style service problem, API contract, domain model, SLOs, trust boundaries and data design; create solution structure and environment
  • Day 2: Implement C# domain/service layers and ASP.NET Core endpoints with validation, DI, consistent errors and generated OpenAPI.
  • Day 3: Add EF Core persistence, migrations, constraints and relational queries; verify transaction behavior and database failure cases.
  • Day 4: Add authentication/authorization and secure secret/config handling; document passkey/JWT/session tradeoffs for the chosen client scenario.
  • Day 5: Add unit/integration tests and place the API plus a dependency under .NET Aspire with service discovery, health checks and local orchestration.
  • Day 6: Instrument traces/metrics/logs, load-test one endpoint and inject a dependency/database failure; tune or fix one measurable reliability/performance issue.
  • Day 7: Publish repo, OpenAPI artifact, schema/architecture diagrams, test evidence, Aspire dashboard/telemetry captures, incident note, demo video and runbook.

.NET Services - Design, Secure, Observe & Operate

Ship a production-style .NET service rather than a CRUD demo. Completion must show C# engineering discipline, API and relational-data design, modern security, automated tests, .NET Aspire orchestration, observability, performance evidence and recovery from an injected dependency failure.

Proof Rubric — What Must Be Shown

  • API: Typed contract, validation + OpenAPI
  • DATA: EF model, migrations + transactions
  • SECURITY: Identity/authz + protected secrets
  • TESTING: Unit/integration + repeatability
  • DISTRIBUTED: Aspire orchestration + discovery
  • OBSERVABILITY: Traces, metrics, logs + SLO evidence
  • RESILIENCE: Failure injection + safe recovery
  • DELIVERY: Repo, demo, runbook + tradeoffs
